Just picked the dog up at the vets. She has to wear a protecetive caller for two weeks until her stitches heal. Poor thing. And we are suppose to keep her calm :eek: That should be fun.:D Poor EYE must be working today. It is very cold out but no snow yet.:D Well I must work on a project or two for awhile. hi gang..looks like everyone has been busy today...I have msn...had it a long time..
just never use it LOL..hope the big bash goes good tonight..dont have too much fun and keep those seniors in line..they go back to their childhood seems like when they want to have fun LOL..you all talk about your dogs all the time..let me tell you about my baby..she is a pit bull and the sweetest dog in the whole world..I was always afraid of them and my grandson always wanted one and I said NO NO NO..then he comes in with this tiny little puppy about 4 wks old sick and needing love very badly..doesnt tell me what kind it is...well the rest is history..she is the smartest animal I ve ever had...she loves everyone..the kids just love on her all the time..they pull on her tail and they try to ride her and she just lays there..if she gets tired of them she gets up and walks away..she stays by my side 24 7..unless my grandson is around and then she might wander off with him for awhile..she sleeps with me and has to have this one certain blanket to cover up with or she wont go to sleep..ok well enough of my braqging..smile I hope your baby gets better and sue Im glad Star is better shes a beauty..will check back with you all later...

Ok folks, summary of the Mixes Hill Court Rave 2006!

The coach picked us up for the 10 minute drive to our destination.
The coach driver got lost ao we had a nice detour of the local shops before heading there!:rolleyes:
We arrived early and hubby helped them off the coach. He carried some...he's very strong for a skinny one! They love all that and there were a few 'ooh's and ahh's ' when he had him arms around them! The meal was fantastic, everyone was happy. We had ordered meals a week ago so it was very well organised, most had forgotten what they ordered so no one knows if they had what they ordered lol! :D
They all had hats , blowers, flying balloons and masks. Really good quality as well.
Than came the boogying! Well I have seen them sing and dance before but nothing like this! I know they are a hip bunch but they surprised me. They wer twisting, doing rock and roll, and not a walking stick in site! The energy....I was worn out watching them!
My camera did not do a good job and I couldn't make out what I was taking! I am putting a few on my challenge page. I must have a go at trying to brighten them first. Unfortunately the rope lights flashing have spoilt some and I got a lot of the floor and ceiling lol.
On the way back we had another unscheduled detour and they were singing 'Show me the way to go home!
A good happy and best of all successful night! :)

Aww....Jazz I waited for my son to come in. He didn't come in until 5:30 am. I was so relieved hen he got back. He drove to London, anout 30 mils from us with a friend and they got lost lol. Thay had to ask a policeman the way home. He hadn't got his mobile so couldn't ring me. Thay just don't realise what they put you through. I then crashed out! I am so pleased you are sounding better. Don't overdo it though!!!!!

WOW what a great time last night! I had a blast! we should do that every Sunday night! I have tons of stuff to do today as its Monday and there is food shopping to be done. OH no the weekly challenge is down to monthly! I for one am a little upset but I have to go with the flow!

(Making room for new leftovers) done. Take the dog out for #1and #2 twenty times in the next few hours. Call the bill collecters to notify them of my recent death. done. Make slippers for my new friends:D done. Put on my own slippers and scrub the floor.:D I need a nap.

Wow Crops you sure been busy! I've done washing, lost the dog, found the dog, got the iron out., ignored the ironing (it's the thought that counts!), called the car insurers and was told they'd ring me back (they told me that last week!), wrote some letters to cancel mobile phone contracts and then took out new ones on offer lol, looked at my flat tyre and then looked again...not pretty, went on the boards and here I am!:D

This is Monday and I just bought 30 loavesof bread---mmmm----should last me a week.Had done many reject bathes and put many slippers on. Loie decided to make these slippers for my patients.Very absorbent when they piddle from the diddle:D I am exhausted from typing.whew:D

Hello Gang.. tonight I was sitting here calmly reading and laughing at you nuts and then right in the middle of it all eng post that one line "I wish my dog would stop farting"..I had just taken a big drink of my diet coke with lime and that stuck me so funny..I spewed coke out all over my monitor..got choked..started coughing..couldnt stop laughing or coughing or choking..and in the middle of it was saying oh me oh me..now please try and imagine how that all sounded together..nurse came in to see if I was dying..I tired to tell her I thought so..well by that time my pants were wet and I cracked the chair trying to get up, hit my broke toe on the side of the chair..had a few choice words over that..at least I think they were words..nurse got tickled and was standing here with her legs crossed trying not to mess up her clothes( she doesnt carry extras for emergencys) laughing her fool head off now Im really really out of breath and cant move nurse goes and gets me some meds of andrews to stop the cough and I finally limped to the bathroom, took a shower, and regained some of my dignity..but my ribs are sore and my throat hurts..darn eng..sounds like busy days for you all..this is what I did...called the repair man..thought I would wrap up and get warm before I got started on my pages..fell asleep..woke up went to br heat still not fixed went back to bed fell asleep again..woke up..repeated this several more times..woke up the next time thought i had died and gone to hell it was so hot in here and me under all those blankets..heat got fixed..got up and tried to get to thermostat to turn heat down..nutty people around here tried to fry me and andrew..so worn out from getting up and down out of bed and hobbling to bathroom I was to worn out to scrap book..tried to fold clothes too tired to do that..got my gs in here and sweet talked him into cleaning out my closet..I sat on the bed and told him what to throw away and what to keep..and hes grippign all the time..finally got that done and I was worn out from telling him what to do..found a lot of old pics in the closet so looked at all those and now its time for nomal people to be sleeping and im wide awake..ok thats my story now I am going to try and work some and go back to bed..talk to you later.. :eek:

OMG Jazz you are too funny! you had me cracking again again! They say laugher is the best medicine! I think we all have had an overdose lately! But as the saying goes you can never have to much of a good thing! Gosh you people are early birds lately! I have to get my 9 hours of beauty sleep or I am a crab all day! Didn't feel like cooking again yesterday so we just had McDonalds, yuck!! but it was better than having to cook! I DID get all my cards done!!! YEAH!!!! I'm not sure what my mind is going to make me to do today as there is tons of stuff to do but I don't know where to begin. I will have to get off this computer to get anything accomplished today! Help! the day goes on.......Well in the middle of house work I thaught " I must make a cake" that is the personality I have. It always drove my sisters crazy. Now I have tons of dishes to wash. And then theirs the ceiling:eek: I got myself a new hand held mixer. Boy is it powerful. Just ask the dog.When I was a kid I had my first "easy bake oven". Well not really. We girls had to share it. Any ways, I was at the bottom of this sharing list. I was so excited. Santa must have known how much I wanted to bake a cake. I am a bit stubborn (I was a red head) and would not let any one help me. Well for years later my family won't let me live it down. They say I invented ce-ment.:eek: Don't you just hate families:eek: Child Hood Christmas Memories......Humbug.......:D

Ooh ....yes...our Ethel was my most favourite resident of all time.I could write a book on her, she was amazing. She had the biggest heart and the most amazing sense of humour ever! She was 94 when she died, she told the most amazing stories and had everyone laughing from morning until night. She had an accent that just made her stories even better.
She was obsessed by her granddaughters boyfriend Andy who was a fireman.He used to come here if the alarms went off. Thankfully false alarms! Ethel Longworth, I love that name, reminds me of Pippi Longstocking lol, used to say to me 'I saw Andy practicing his marching today. It doesn't seem funny on paper but to hear her was just so funny, she really believed that's what he was doing. She used to get really ill and I was often calling ambulances for her. She was given hours to live once and her family were all round her bed. Her daughter Irene clutched her hand and whispered 'Come on Mam, Andy's coming'. Ethel suddenly sat up on her death bed and announced 'Ooh , I'd better do my hair then.' She fully recovered and entertained us for a few more years.She had many episodes like that and she was genuinely ill. She was a real character, My daughter still talks about her.
Her family have so many funny and happy memories of her, she used to get in so many scrapes. I went in one night and found her sitting in the middle of the living room half dressed. I said, Ethel what are you doing on the floor. I thought you'd tell me she said!
I must write down some of her events. I have some photos of her that I can scan. My daughter would love something to remind her of her.
She was no fool either, she said exactly what she thought and got away with it.

Good afternoon all. Well I took my mom to a doctor appt today, stopped at a couple of stores on the way back. picked up some fast food and took it to her house for lunch. Teased the dog. We picked up these real cute soft and cuddley stuffed dogs that looked real at a glance. Star was having a fit. He was so jealous, would you believe he even went to sniff the stuffed dog in the back end...:eek: then started barking at it. It was hilarious. You can tell Star is feeling better now. Hope it stays that way.

Well I have to try and finish my cards up tonight, and wrap some gifts to be shipped, so I will talk at a later time.

Hope some one is holding up the fort at the Hardware Store. Maybe I should put up a closed for the Hollidays sign??:D

Jasp is mad on soft toys, he loves them so much. He rips the stuffing out of them and chews them down to bits of rag and then he adores them The bits of rag are much more pleasing than a whole toy! We have to wait for him to go for a walk before we can ever thow any bits away! He is the same with his rug. I wash it when he goes out!

ENG: I loved your memories about Ethel. Like all of us, they have had a life of family and friends. A past much different than what our kids will have.There for ,it is up to you and I to preserve it. Don't be afraid to write it down in a journal. If not to make you smile but for all the dear Ethel's of our world. And I bet when our kids get our age they will well appreciate it. I love doing this. Yep, ours loves the squeky ones. The only way to get him in is to sqeak Father Christmas. The only squeaky toy he hasn't destroyed. No other toy has it's sqeak! He must know that he musn't hurt him, he's had him 3 years now.

Thanks for those beautiful stories eng..really made my day..older people are so precious we could all learn a lot from them..
Talking about stories and journals..my sister who is 7 yrs younger than me..cant remember any family stories and when we were together I would say do you remember.......and she would say No I dont..so one year I started typing stuff down when I thought of it..a little story or something I remembered my grandmother telling about when she was young..things we did as kids..just all kinds of family stuff..then I took them all and tried to put in some kind of order and into a story like form..I ended up with a lot of pages and I printed them..made a cover and decorated it and gave it to my sister for Christmas..I will never forget the look on her face when she opened it..she cried like a baby..if I had spent a hundred dollars on a gift I dont think would have liked it as well as that book..
it made my Christmas that year..then both of my girls had to print them a copy so it turned out very good..if we dont pass things down like that our children and their children and so on down the line will never know about their family history..my dad was with a seabee during ww2..he was attached to the 5th marine division and drove a bulldozier onto the beachs of Iwo Jima..he was wounded and was lying on the beach waiting to be carried to the hospital ship when they raised the famous first and second flags..he used to tell me all those stories and it would make chills run up my arms (just like now)
my grandsons love for me to tell them about his war stories..
so yes its important to share and I am sure that Ethel is very happy that someone remembered her and loved her enough to remember things about her..just think how many people now know about a sweet little old lady in England that we never had the honor of meeting..

Things have been pretty quiet at the security office today..the sheriff and his deputies have been watching out for scrap thiefs..its getting that time of year you know..I hung a do not disturb sign on my door and unplugged the computer and cleaned my room all day..or rather I had my daughter, andrews nurse, my gsons girlfriend and my gsons x girfriend all cleaning..(they were here at different times) she has to:confused: come and visit me..Im her Nana she says..I have so many kids calling me Nana I feel like the old woman in the shoe..I was sitting on the bed telling them what to do..I tell you I sure am worn out from all those directions I had to give..I couldnt stand it any longer I had to turn the puter back on while I am cleaning of the desk..only I could do that..I have made a little progress..good thing my boss has flown the coop.LOL..Sue the sheriff is watching the hardware store..he used his pass key and sold some extension cords today..people needed them to hook up all the christmas lights going up around scrapsville..he put the money in the box in the hiding place..
I think I must be off now to finish this desk and try to make a few pages..havent made one in days..my kids will be here late Sat afternoon..will only be able to spend one night and then leave on Sunday night to go to her dads..they have to fly out early Monday morn..short trip but Im so excited havent seen my baby in almost 2 years..gage was4 and now hes 6 and doesnt look like the same little boy..

ell have knelt on the floor in a cupboard wrapping presents so that the 'little ones' don't see! My legs are now refusing to work as they are stuck in the position I was kneeling in. Of course had to play hunt the scissors as they are never put back where they belong. I hate wrapping presents! Have ordered some more. I must write down what I've wrapped and try and ind anything I've forgotten. It's a standard joke in this house. I find presents in drawers all year round and I end up giving them out because I'll forget otherwise! I found a lovely revolving mirror I bought for my daughter last year. Have yet to buy hubby anything and middle son. It is stressful........all for one day! Will do it again next year though lol.

Hi all, Sorry I missed everyone, it been a busy day. running around trying to get presents wrapped to be shipped, taking them to my mom's so I can put hers with mine in the boxes, She misplaced a couple of the gifts that were to be sent so got held up because of that. Got stuck in one line at grocery store due to computer freezing up, they had us move to another line just to have it happen again. Getting frustrated by now. needed to get home and finish cards (ones I didn't have addresses for), by the time I got home I didn't feel like working on that. Needed to make some phone calls. WOW I missed one whole day not being here... I read back and Mr. Scrooge had been here and done something to Smile and Crops..Im sure glad I missed him...please eye tell them the name of that "whammer jammer dammer wine" you are drinking!! I would have probably been posting the same things yesterday..trying to get these lazy people that live here to get busy doing SOMETHING...I have all I can handle giving instructions!!! geeze what more do they expect out of me...:eek: So far this week my furnace went out to the tune of about $200 and last night my daughter starts yelling MOOOOTHEEEEEEEER COME HERE QUICK...well due to the dire condition of my broken toe and other things..its almost impossible to do anything QUICK..I made it to the laundry room and my hot water heater was pouring water everywhere..YEP darn thing busted...called my x-son-in-law..who, since hes not married to my daughter anymore,..is almost a halfway nice person..he came over and turned the water off on the heater and hes coming back today (hopefully he has also stopped lying) to fix it..there was just ankle deep clothes on the laundry room floor (my daughter was finally getting around to washing)..now they are still ankle deep but VERY WET..at least they absorbed a lot of the water from the WH..couldnt have picked a better time to bust since my daughter and her family from Oregon will be here Sat..also solved all my shopping problems of what to get everyone this year..I will get a big picture of a furnace and of a new water heater and cut into EQUAL pieces..(dont want anyone to feel left out)..and wrap them very pretty...(humm wonder if I can get a BIG discount on a new water heater from the hardware store)...oh yes and eng i have to ask you why you did not offer me the music in my hair when you turned it christmas red..that would have helped the effect soo much.....I have not made not one page since the last 2 I posted here..wonder if I have forgottnen how by now since I only have one side of my brain that functions..now it might be in shock and shut down...dr marion HELP ME start it up again!!!...well I must go and put some clothes on and hope that my x son in law makes it here..we are going to get the water heater and supplies..I hope they have some good pictures of it available too...take care all..will be busy and Im so excited I feel like its christmas eve and Im five yrs old waiting on Santa to come..cant wait to get my hands on my family..not gonna let go for a long time..hugs to all..:D :D

I have gotten 1 layout done but its one my daughter asked me to make of her and her 2 friends on their senior trip..they graduated in 1993 and the pictures never got developed..one of the girls mom found them, didnt know what they were of, and she had them developed and they were the trip pics..they emailed anigie a few and she is going to mat and frame the page and send it to her friends for christmas..had to get that one done for her..been going thur boxes of pics and found baby ones of my girls have to scan all those in and get busy on finishing mother sb..well better go..hugs to everyone will try to catch up with ya'll later..huggs

Awww..............Jazz, I hope he's turned up. I remember we had no hot water whwn we got married and when Jonathan was born I had to boil water for everything. It was awful. No bath. Gosh we do take things for granted when we have them. You reall do not need this hassle, I do hope it's sorted.

LOL u are sooo funny..was feeling down..thanks for the lfit back up..yes and remember what sue told us..the raindeer are all female too and thats why santa never gets lost on christmas eve...among other things..lol
Well gang a rundown on my visit (to short) they didnt get here until about 10 pm Sat night..got lots and lots of hugs and tears..then I gave the boys their birthday (late ) presents..they loved them..while they played.I gave angie and dave the sbooks I made for them..more tears from angie..gage loved the book too.then we loaded up and all went to my moms to spend the night..well Lori and I..the older boys stayed here because of seeping arrangements..got to mothers and never made it past her big kitchen..family gathering place always around the big table..angie got out more old picture books and we sat and looked at them and talked till 3 am..dave finally went to bed and left us girls alone ..My mom went to bed first..I fell asleep at the table and angie made me go to bed..lol I think her and lori were there till about 4 or later..boys woke me up next morn..and everyone else asleep..we snuggled and talked and had fun..best part of vist to me..rest got up..had breakfast..angie and her family left to go visit her other gm..I took a nap..lol..lori went and got josh and chase...they played with gage and zane outside..we are all still in the kitchen around the table..cooking lunch..and talking more..I had the chair right by the door..as the boys came in and out I would put my arm out and stop them and get hugs and kisses and it got to be a game..realatives came by to visit..we had a big lunch and they had to leave to go back to huntsivlle to catch plane early mon morn..its was a wonderful wonderful visit just way way to short..dave and angie made lots of pics when they get home are going to put them on the computer and email to me..didnt have time to put them on my computer..one wonderful bit of news..they are really wanting to move to huntsville..all of daves family live in southern california and he doesnt see them often ..they want boys to have a big close family so this is perfect.. they were going to talk to angies dad tonight about daves chances of going to work with him..hes a big home builder there..so I bet by summer they will be moved back to alabama..only 70 miles from me..I know angies dad will do whatever it takes to get them home..got to get some sleep gang..will be back Monday sometime..hugs to all

You ain't got no friends:D ...........first of all some of you might know why I
haven't been on much. I have two teenage foster girls visiting me for three days. We have been making christmas ornaments,shopping,eating out(my favourite)lol and off course decorating. Then theirs this computer.........:eek: never mix computer's and teenagers.........:eek: They have been having fun I think. I showed them all about Scrapbooking on here and they loved it. I now have no ink left in my printer(lol) They are really sweet girls . When they first arrived, Brittney (17yrs. old) ask if well she was here, could we take her to the grave yard to visit her mom. Sad isn't it. I just wanted to cry and hug her. And off course I am taking her today. She lives in another town and hasn't seen her mom's grave in over a year. What a request. And yes I to am crying. And we have only got to worry about christmas presents. I don't mean to make things sad but count your blessings because their are harder things in life then the hassel of christmas. On the fun side we are going to exchange christmas gifts tonight. They went shopping at the dollar store and had a ball. lol I picked them up a pair of fleecy P.J.'s that I saw them looking at in another store. So it should be fun. That really tears at the heart strings. They were the luckiest girls in the world to find you though. You are so much fun. They must adore you. There will be others that don't have anyone to take an interest tham and that goes for those with families too. Bless you Smile, you are a treasure.

Hello gang: Boy has time flown by. Teenagers can keep you busy. I took lots of pictures so I will be busy . The girls want me to do some layouts for them and send them. We are going to have a little Christmas tonight and exchange gifts. We went to the grave yard to visit Brittney's mom's grave. I picked up some flowers so she could put them on the grave and she cried so hard when she saw them. I felt bad because I didn't mean to up set her. But I held her and she just said she was so greatful that I thaught to do that. She is seventeen now and her mom died about two years ago. We talked about her alot and even though I didn't know her mom I let her talk. She needed this so badly. What a sweet young lady she is. The other girl is Kerrie and she is sweet also. She was taken from her home when she was only small and has been in foster care ever since. She is 18 now but still has to have supervised visits to see her parents. So it must have been a hard life for her. I am ready for Christmas now because having them here was my gift to me. And what a joy they gave. .........So once again Merry Christmas........and I shall have my computer back tomorrow.......lol......xo

Smile you are such a gem. Those girls have a lot more than many with families. I am glad you got so much from them.A long story but my half brother and sister had foster parents and my half brother ( he is a full brother as far as I'm concerned ) have been deeply affected by this. It is people like you who helped them through.

I think SBM has to have a GOOD, KINDHEARTED, CARING, LOVING, GIVING, MAGNET attached to it...I see it over and over from the friends I have made here..smile what you did for those 2 girls was the true meaning of Christmas and of Love..eng you took those old souls out and showed them a good time and let them know that you cared for them and from things you have said you are a friend to them..you all worry when one is missing from here for awhile..you are thoughtful and encouraging and funny..you make bday cards and get well cards and post words of encouragement...some of you bought Christmas Angels and helped needy children and familys to have a Christmas..eye you always have some encouraging words or a poem when someones down..sue you take such good care of your mom..there are millions of grown kids who neglect their parents and are mean to them..and you are a friend to us all.. crops u always cheer us up and make us laugh..and all you have to do is spend time in the gallery to see how much love there is for babies, family and friends, nature, animals and all things that make the world a special place...all these wonderfully talented people who make such beautiful things and give them to us...granny for starting all this with your soap operas..Gosh I could go on and on I am just so thankful I stumbled into this communtiy..and so blessed to be a part of it..:)

As I was walking down the streets of Scrapsville I saw all the beautiful decorations..the snow was falling (YEPS IT SNOWS HERE LOL) it was a very christmasy site and I was beginning to feel the spirt of the holiday...lo and behold I got to the square downtown and someone has taken all the santas down and hung them upside down..they tied poor dasher, dancer, prancer, vixon comet cupid donner and blizen and poor rudolph together by their tails and put funny little hats on them..I tell you sheriff Bob and his duputy need to get with the program and find these pranksters..
Granny the ambassador has been moving in...she has totally redecorated my old office and spent lots of money..she said you told her to do it...now my feelings are hurt because you wouldnt let me spend any money and made me keep typing on that old manual typewriter...heard that the waterin holes pipes froze the other night and wont be open for awhile..well im tired..helped mother put up her tree and decorations today..I did the most important and hardest job..I had to sit in the recliner and tell them how to do it and Im so worn out..I got one picture made for the sb..at this rate it wont be done till next christmas..hugs to all an everyone take care..and do something nice for someone todayl

Sorry I wasn't around yesterday. My hubby didn't go to work so we ended up shopping....at antique stores. We didn't buy anything though. Then we went out to eat last night with our moms. His Mom goes to Boston for Christmas every year so we always go out to eat before she leaves.

Today I am getting ready to leave again to take my mom to the Ear Doctor. Then she wants to go shopping afterwards. Not sure when I will get back. If I have a chance I will get back on tonight!
