I had to run over to my moms. Her garbage pick up is tomorrow morning so I had to put it out tonight. Of course when I got over there she found other things for me to do. Needless to say, I will not be able to finish my tree tonight. I don't think. It takes me forever. I have way too much stuff. I did get the lights on it. I think I have about 17 strings of lights (100 ea). It gets real wide at the bottom and I work them them through the branches to the inner part of the tree. Takes forever. Now I have about 6 containers of decorations that I have to sort through and decide what I want to use. I could probably decorate 3 trees. Just saying put the favorites on doesn't work, because they are all my favorites. (just about anyway).

Well just thought I would sneak a peak again and see what everyone is up to. No word from Linda yet huh? I hope she is ok.

When EYE and I were shopping last night they had a christmas tree with cards on it . These cards had the age of the child and what the parent or parents wished from santa. So i took one and it was for a two year old little girl and her mom had wrote down "nice clothes " size two". It was such fun shopping for a little girl. I managed to get a pair of PJ's , a little dress with leggens and a soft suit with angels on it. I am so glad that my husband wasn't with me. He is not mean but I do sometimes get carried away(lol). I just wish I could have bought more. But Christmas isn't over and I know a few more families that need help. I am only paying back for the things that people did for us when we were small. We were a large family and when my dad was killed in the coal mine. My mom still had nine of us at home. Because it was so close to Christmas when the desaster happened strangers from around the world sent us gifts. EYE was also in the same situation as us because her dad was killed also. And there were just as many kids at her house .People were wonderful and my mom talked about it often. My mom at that time lost her husband and his brother and EYE's dad who was her brother. What a hard life our mom's must have had. I hope I haven't bored you too much but this time of year I get a little sentimental. Lois

Everyone better take pictures of there trees this year, since we all can't visit during the holiday it would be nice to see the trees. The police turned up this afternoon and I thought boys are home, Amy's at college, hubby's at work. Imagined all sorts! Turned out they want to come and talk to the old people next week because there are a lot of distraction burglaries going on!
We talked about lie detectors after they'd gone and I said I would fail even if I told the truth coz I wouls be so nervous!

Back from music so going to do some more washing, a bit of ironing and ......our dog is squashed up so close I can't move! I hate disturbing him lol. Spoilt creature. Oh well 5 more minutes then!

The police turned up this afternoon and I thought boys are home, Amy's at college, hubby's at work. Imagined all sorts! Turned out they want to come and talk to the old people next week because there are a lot of distraction burglaries going on!
We talked about lie detectors after they'd gone and I said I would fail even if I told the truth coz I wouls be so nervous!

Back from music so going to do some more washing, a bit of ironing and ......our dog is squashed up so close I can't move! I hate disturbing him lol. Spoilt creature. Oh well 5 more minutes then!

IncidentlyMax mentions gmail which I use. It's Googles email. You have to have an invite if you want to open an account. I have loads of invitations if anyone wants one. I have a hotmail account but I rarely use it now. I love gmail. Once you get used to it is brilliant. They are doing more and more to it as well.

I had a cord with several outlits to it. I was going to add another strip after I was done. But everything went out before I was done. It turned out the the Outlit cord shorted out and went dead. I had to add a couple of more cords. At least I didn't have to take the decorations all off. I would have really screamed.

When EYE and I were shopping last night they had a christmas tree with cards on it . These cards had the age of the child and what the parent or parents wished from santa. So i took one and it was for a two year old little girl and her mom had wrote down "nice clothes " size two". It was such fun shopping for a little girl. I managed to get a pair of PJ's , a little dress with leggens and a soft suit with angels on it. I am so glad that my husband wasn't with me. He is not mean but I do sometimes get carried away(lol). I just wish I could have bought more. But Christmas isn't over and I know a few more families that need help. I am only paying back for the things that people did for us when we were small. We were a large family and when my dad was killed in the coal mine. My mom still had nine of us at home. Because it was so close to Christmas when the desaster happened strangers from around the world sent us gifts. EYE was also in the same situation as us because her dad was killed also. And there were just as many kids at her house .People were wonderful and my mom talked about it often. My mom at that time lost her husband and his brother and EYE's dad who was her brother. What a hard life our mom's must have had. I hope I haven't bored you too much but this time of year I get a little sentimental. Lois

Our church host a Christmas party for them and they also receive a food basket and a turkey. I think it is a great program!

When I said I live in I meant it is a residential job. We (hubby, although he isn't employed here) have always had an entertainer and run a bar with the dinner brought in. I like doing the social events. I have a couple of wacky residents. One is 89 and usually dresses up and has us in fits. Another gets tipsy and takes to the floor and sings, very funny stuff. Most people say it is a fun place to live and thats the best reward I can have.Some of the Sheltered blocks I go in are horrible, miserable. Of course as in all humans there are the difficult ones. I have a rule in here, no one is allowed to talk about illness outside of their own flats.
This is the first year we have gone out. I dread it as they always have a collection and give me vouchers and do a thank you for all you do stuff! I hate it, I hate recognition. I got a 25 year service award a couple of years ago and I asked for it to be sent by post! I was supposed to go to this presentation thing!
