View Full Version : The Groove November 2010 Freebie Challenge

Welcome to The Groove's Monthly Freebie Challenge!
Hello from The Groove, Scrapbook MAX!'s *free* monthly newsletter!
Each month, a featured designer offers a great freebie mini-kit and issues a challenge based on that kit.
All you need to do is download the freebie to make your challenge pages in Scrapbook MAX!. Then, create a layout (or layouts) that steps up to the challenge, upload it to the Groove Newsletter Challenges gallery (http://www.scrapbookmax.com/gallery/showgallery.php/cat/2808) and post a link to your layout in a reply to this thread.
Details about this month's freebie and challenge are below.
This month, designer Katie Castillo has shared an adorable 5 x7 brag book page based on her scrumptious "Applelicious" line of designs.
Make 3 layouts with Katie's freebie page.
For the first page, pop in the perfect photos, but don't change anything else (you can add journaling if you wish).
For the second page, using the same photos, rearrange the embellishments and other elements to layout the page in a different way.
For your third page, choose new photos, and alter the colors of the page (you can rearrange the items on this one or leave Katie's layout intact).
NOTE: This freebie requires Scrapbook MAX! 2.0 digital scrapbooking software to work. Simply download the file, and then double-click on the saved file to import it into Scrapbook MAX! 2.0. If you don't have Scrapbook MAX! 2.0, you can use the freebie in the free 30 day trial version of the software. Visit this page for free trial download instructions: http://www.scrapbookmax.com/download-free-trial/

OOOH, this sounds like fun . . . Can't wait to get scrapping :)
11-02-2010, 08:00 AM
Slightly confused since the instructions state perfect photo; however, the template has openings for 3 photos. Did we get the right template?
11-02-2010, 10:39 AM
Good catch! I've gone back and added "s"s where they should have been - please choose a photo for each of the placeholders, and follow the challenge instructions as corrected in the first post.
Thanks - and have fun!

It's so AWESOME looking at the results of this challenge - you get these two great layouts, and then PRESTO - a totally different take on the same theme! The variety is incredible, and it just goes to show that templates in Scrapbook MAX! (and the scrappers who use them! ;) ) are super creative, because of all the personal touches you can add in! Love it - keep 'em coming!

Loving the creativity shown in this challenge!
pmeparker96 - what a cool choice to go neutral for your third layout! It really works with the photos you've chosen.
Love seeing a nice mix of "veteran" and "newbie" scrappers to our community participating. Challenges (and freebies!) are fun, aren't they?

I can tell this can be very addicting LOL. Using the software was easy, now I just hope I can post my pages.
