View Full Version : Scrappin' Challenge 23

06-21-2010, 05:58 PM
I am back with your next challenge....

This one is called ANYTHING GOES!

*There are no rules with this one....Except ONE...I want to see a frame in your layout...You could use it as a border around your page, around a photo, etc etc...Think outside the box...<wink>
*All items used to make your layout has to be SBM products...free or store bought...Please give credit.

Oh there is one more thing....Whom ever posts their layout first, will decide what the theme is for the rest of you....So let's say Linda posts a layout about a baby, the rest of you would have to make a layout about a baby....Yadda yadda...lol...So who will be first in posting? LOL...

*Upload your layout to the designer challenge catagory in the gallery, then post your layout here...
This one will take us to the end of the month...At that time, I will pick 2 people who made the most creative layout...No rules, so you can really have fun with this one... (minus the theme...lol) The 2 winners will receive a special prize from me...and ALL the participants will get a new Flair Button...

Michelle I thought outside the box and made a frame around Grandma and the little girl. Credit to Moonbeam for her kit Anitquity2.

Michelle excellent challenge...Thank you!.

Oh sure, I take my daughter out for dinner on her birthday, and miss being first. <wink> Very lovey page Dillie. So Dillie, are we doing Grandma or pie?

06-21-2010, 09:46 PM
Okay, I went with the Grandma Poem theme. I found this poem on the Internet by Genie's Poetry. I used Carena's fabulous Rhapsody A and B kits,

Hey what happened to my layout--did you take it? I am at work and can't see it....OK Linda I think I need to start stalking you again...LOL

Seriously I can't see it, do I need to repost it? :)

06-22-2010, 07:16 AM
Ha ha Dillie! Go on, fess up, the theme is invisibility isn't it? :p:D (can't find it anywhere in the gallery either ... )

Linda, love your LO, great stuff.

I'll be back. ;)

Great pages and what a wonderful theme....
Dillie the photo is so neat...and looks great int he book...
Linda, your extraction is awesome and the poem is fantastic....
Keep 'em coming....

06-22-2010, 04:10 PM
Wow Dillie, you're right, where did it go? I wanted to be first so I put an invisible shield over it so no one could see it. and that makes me first. <wink> I think we will do a Grandma Theme - Sound good to you Dillie? I didn't see your comment on your photo in the Gallery until today about a Vintage Grandma Theme, sorry. I'll do another in Vintage if that's what you want the Theme to be.

06-22-2010, 04:23 PM
I thought you were the one to mess it up for me. You had me going there for a bit. :)

I love the Grandma Theme so we can stick with that, but you know how Michelle loves her challenges to be full of layouts, do another one with Grandma Vintage....LOl

06-22-2010, 04:53 PM
Okay, I'll see what I can come up with for a Vintage Grandma.

06-22-2010, 07:00 PM
Okay, here's another one, this time using a Vintage Grandma Theme. It took me FOREVER to find a good Vinatge picture I liked on the Internet. I finally found this one on E-Bay. I used Carena's Designs lovely Candy Pink kit for this along with the teapot and brass swirls from the MAX Object Gallery.

06-22-2010, 07:44 PM
Wow Linda, this is stunning. I love it...Great clustering of the flowers. Awesome!

06-22-2010, 07:57 PM
Thanks Dillie. Finding a good Vintage picture was not quick or easy, but well worth the hunt. Thanks for the Theme. Michelle's right, I probably would have done a baby <wink>

06-23-2010, 04:45 PM
Gorgeous layout Linda....I think you and Dillie have this thread all to yourselves...LOL....Lovely pages to the both of you....((HUGS))

06-24-2010, 02:32 AM
Dillie, love your colours and had a good giggle at your story :) Loved it!
Linda, I just love how perfectly everything in your first layout fits together!! Great extraction and beautiful sentiments too. . . And your kit for the vintage layout was simply perfect for the pic!!. . . Great layout!!
I did a layout for this challenge last night, only to realise (after uploading) that the kit I used as my basis was not a max kit :( So back to the drawing board. :( Will tackle it this evening - it's difficult to scrap with the boys on holiday. They keep me on my toes :)

06-24-2010, 09:41 AM
wow stunning LO's ladies - you guys had me laughing out loud with your back and forth antics! I've been away again so long I keep missing all the fun! I'll try to jump into this challenge though :) Sometime in between work, husband and babies.. oh how I miss being on maternity leave!!
Keep up the good work girls!

Here's my 'framed' grammy - I added the sepia for a bit more 'vintage' feel. Wasn't sure if it was just Grandmothers - or vinatage grandmothers. :)

06-24-2010, 02:33 PM
Welcome back KSD, I've missed all your beautiful layouts!!! This one is lovely!!! Great title/journalling

I've never met any of my grandparents, nor do I have any pics of any of them, so I did one of my mom with some of her grandkids . . .

Wonderful layouts with this challenge. Don't use the templates from the ScrapbookMax program, additions or ones from others, so I figured that I would go that route. Recolored and substituted papers with Michelle's Be My Valentine kit. This is my favorite photo of myself and my daughter's 1st born at 8 weeks old.

Hi you guys!

Great job everyone! Sorry I've come in late to this but I have a foul cold so feeling a bit under the weather. :(

Anyway, here's my effort.

http://www.scrapbookmax.com/gallery/data/2809/Challenge_23.jpg (http://www.scrapbookmax.com/gallery/design-team-challenges/p41234-grandmothers.html)

I used the frame to make a message board (the old fashioned kind) with wallpaper behind it and an elastic framework to tuck photos into.

Frame: Grungy Girl
Wallpaper: Crafty Scraps, Challenge 20
Cameo Embellishment: Victoriana-Anne, Deanne Gow-Smith
Elastic mesh by me

I've posted the elastic mesh embie if anyone wants to grab it. ;)

Bright Blessings - FS xx

Now, I am hosting the July Designer Challenge with some other friends of mine, and we sure have a surprise for you....So there is no Scrappin' Challenge this week....You get a break....All of you will receive an email with the Challenge Flair Button...(look at my signature...they look cute down there, don't they?) I noticed only a couple posted theirs so far.....Hmmmm....No biggie...lol....Just makes you look even MORE special...I will be reporting anyone who has one and shouldn't...The image code will be in your PM...As for the winners, they will also get one, PLUS a cool surprise from me....((HUGS))

06-30-2010, 09:38 PM
Michelle, I love the Flair buttons. I did try to attach the first one, but my signature space is maxxed out and it wouldn't let me. I had to remove one of my Blinkies in order to attach the new one, but I have joined the party. <wink>

06-30-2010, 09:48 PM
Fantastic!! Congratulations KimmyAnn and Dillie!! :)
I have no idea how to add a 'blinkie' or a signature...or a flair button - they sure are cute!! How do I get one?
Kel -albeit the 'senior member' title - guess I'm still a 'newbie' :)

You are all so welcome!!!
Putting these cute little flairs are easy to put in your signature....Go to your inbox, on the left hand side you will see a catagory called Edit Signature...Click that....then in the box Type copy and paste the IMG link I gave you here
Click preview and you will see it, then click save....You MUST type in the brackets and IMG to both sides of your image link or it will not work...no spaces either...link
Does this help?

07-01-2010, 11:46 AM
Congratulations to Dillie and to Kimmyann, well done! Awesome layouts everyone.

I hope my button is showing, I have put the link in. I haven't got the first one in because I couldn't find my image code in the email although it said it was there. I guess I should have asked but I've been poorly. :(
