Newbie question about templates

I am so sorry to ask this, as it is a complete newbie question. :o

I think when I download a template I can't move things around, right? It is just used exactly as is? Just checking so that I know to watch for those suited to the number of pics I want to use.

if the template you download is an SMT (a scrapbook max template) then you can normally move all parts on the page - the only templates you won't be able to move are what as known as 'quick pages' which are a jpeg image so solid
