Autisticwonder, bless her soul....wanted to give you a challnge this week...I wasn't going to argue with her...lol...and it will give me some time to plan some more challenges for you as well...She is so so sweet...:) Put your hands together for our creative lady...<wink> I know she will come up with something to ROCK this place down...lol...Take it away Donna!!!!!! :D

Unlike the FIRST ScrapbookMax blinkie I made..This NEW ScrapbookMax blinkie for version 2.0 is going to be done by ALL of us that want to take a hand in the design of it!! You will NOT be doing the manual blinkie format..that is my job..I will be making the gif image for all to download and to make personal for all of us!!

This challenge will conclude with a RANDOM DRAWING for a FREE copy of the NEW Scrapbook MAX! 2.0 software by electronic download. Or, if you already have Scrapbook MAX! 2.0, you can win your choice of one Scrapbook MAX! 2.0 Expansion Pack: either "Bundle of Joy" or "Back To School" by electronic download! Please note that participants who have won in the last two months are not eligible for a prize.

All we need to do for this 2 week long CHALLENGE is to design a Scrapbook Max template for a 2.0 version BLINKIE.. The first week will be dedicated to that purpose..Everyone that wants the blinkie will get their name and/or quote SBM blinkie 2.0 by end of the week..We may decide to do one blinkie version or several to choose from! 2nd week of CHALLENGE is for you to design your OWN personal blinkie for WHATEVER you like and again..I will do the blinkie formatting for it!! Show off your work here!! and share if you desire with others!! (NO blogsites or store advertising except SBM store allowed..sorry..policy)

What's a BLINKIE???
Notice the signature at end of this thread where you will see last years blinkie with moving letters and my name in it?? and one with link for my store?? Those are blinkies..

How do I get one?
Once we put our blinkies templates into my Adobe animation program..I will send them to photobucket.com login: autisticwonder password: fisher22
for all to go get them and take them to your accounts or use from mine..Your choice..Directions will be given at that time as to HOW to load them to your signature!! You can go take a peek at previous blinkies I've made by going to photobucket!!

Grab your TEMPLATE below to get you started. I need the items separate and layered in your template so once you design the look of the 6 inch by two inch size blinkie...You can send it back to me in this thread WITH YOUR NAME on it so as to identify the designer!! I will then take it through the animation and but back on the thread for all to see!! and those that want one can get it..I will make easy to use template formats so all I need to do is add the name and quote..

Simplified DIRECTIONS:
1) TAke the Blinkie template

2) Design a scrapbook like page to a 6 inch x 2 inch space using the elements and your choice of added embellishments to the blinkie template

3) Add your INSTRUCTIONS as to the MOVEment you wish to see in the blinkie.. Identify the layer by breaking down to smaller frames if necessary
and provided on another template within this pack..

4) Submit your design in .smt or sm2t format to this thread or in zip format with picture sample of finished product and individual pieces with your instructions on the moveable pieces..

5) I will then do the gif format in blinkie animation for you! and make a pspimage format for easy use to adapt for others. I will give you instructions as to how to put your blinkies on your signature! if you don't know how already!

Donna, I'm not home right now so can't download to see how the pieces are divided up. Is the SBM lady a separate png where she can be moved across the blinkie or can we only move whatever item we add to this?

yes OB..the SBM lady is separate piece as well as curly que, gradient background if desired, frame, black corner...Those are available if needed but not manditory!! Thanks for asking!!

I knew you would have an awesome challenge...I can't wait to get started on this...One question...In each frame, do we use the same pieces we plan on seeing in the blinkie, but just move them around for the movement we want to see...or is each frame just for the pieces we want to use..? Am I making sense? lol...I think I just flustered myself...<wink> Anywho...looking forward to this one...Woo-Hoo!!!!! :D

Wolvsie..Michelle..LOL..The frames help you tell me about each piece to your design if needed to tell me what you want to move and how..

Use the Workspace 6x2 for total build up and then if necessary...use the framer sheet to break it down into layers to tell me about each moving piece..Otherwise..if your design has only one moving part and no changes in scenes then use just the work sheet and tell me which part moves and how you want it to move..

OB..the font for Scrapbook Max piece is not known to me..but you can use whatever font you like to get something similar to it if needed for your design..

Things to help you!
I can do fade in's with an object
curtain falling
things disappearing
transitions etc.. You just need to give me an idea of what you want..

If you find a blinkie in my photobucket account that you would like me to use similar transition or such..let me know!! I can create whatever transitions you wish..well..almost everything!! LOL..I'll find a way to do it!!

BRILLIANT!! Do you have a place you want someone's name to show up? or maybe a quote added?? I LOVE this!! You are getting the idea for sure!! EXCELLENT layer placement..As soon as I hear from you about the name idea..and give me an idea for transition of each frame..Would you like fade in to each layer? or explosion type transition to each layer or one specific layer that comes across pulling in a new scene? That sort of thing..

KimmyAnn..sorry I didn't see lasted post of yours to include the name in beginning..now that the blinkie is made..if you like what we have or want to add more ..we can!! image format is saved!!Will work on that revise for you to make it your personal one!!

Ok, here's mine. Hope this works for you. I had to put the directions for my name above the background layer cause it wouldn't fit beside BACKGROUND. Hope you can read it. Looks like "a loyal fan of" might need to have bigger letters. I was trying to save room for the bounce on the name.You can fix as you see fit.

One request: When you do the name, bounce on the O2BN individually then put up Gd together and then Hope together. Thanks! That way it will read better as "Oh, to be in Good Hope"

Sylvia..need not worry about putting background into each layer..One is all that is necessary..I use layers to transition individual pieces..Background is fixed in place..

do you do EXPORT from file to save your SM2T?

If you EXPORTED..you can find your template by going to My documents:Scrapbookmax:Templates: and find your template..not screenshot..LOL..and upload that..Then I can breakdown your desired blinkie into manageable pieces..

I have Chopin script..so that is not a problem..we will get this to work. Way to go GIRL!!

LOTS of good questions have come up!!!

TIP when making your blinkies!!

If you like a lot of scene changes where BACKGROUND would change..then use the breakdown sheet for sure.

If you want a STAGE like setting..see carena;s blinkies..Michelles blinkies..We need a background image and a TOP layer for the STAGE..Then you fill in the layers with the additions you want to fade in out..etc in between those layers..if You have an additional fixed item..Put on top layer or NExt to top layer and tell me fixed item..

This is a BIG challenge..for sure!! but you folks are very FAST learners and you are figuring it out amazingly fast!! If I don't do it the way you hoped..Say so..that will help us translate better!!

If your workspace is too small..Make a 9in by 3 inch custom template size and work on that..You can then list the transitions or movement with each piece to make it easier on yourself..I can see by looking at it what the stage is..If you want the lady to wink..or move her hand..I can work that up for you by doing cut and paste and drawings into your design..But she would then be a stationary piece..part of your stage!! You can tell me how to introduce her..



Don't make this too hard on yourselves!!! I love shat you all are coming up with!! WOW!! You are tickling my funny bone!! Final pieces for each scene is all I need..For example..notice on my version one Blinkie of SBM..The scrapbookMax wording at top is scattered letters coming together..All you would need to give me is FINAL lineup..I would then duplicate and erase the unneeded letters for each scene and wiggle them in place for you..You all are doing that!! GREAT..keep it up!! OB..mentioned bouncing..YEAH!! I can do that..She gave me final image for that..So pat yourselves on the back..WOW guys..You are going to have some fun blinkies here!!

Try not to make these tooo complicated..the message gets lost with too many transitions..

And if you have samples of other blinkies out there that you would like us to try to duplicate the sequencing..Bring it in..

If you all don't have a photobucket type of account to upload your blinkies too..you might want to register for a free space..Little gifs images of smilies dancing etc..are the kind of things you can grab from others and use yourself in emails and on our posts and threads..I've got a separate account for that..blinkies too of course!!

Gotta get to work..busy day planned!..4 blinkies on tap already!! heehhehe..

OB..sure hope you aren't disappointed too much with not doing the blinkie exactly like you wanted..What some of you might not realize is transition is important from frame to frame..So I put some things together to keep to the theme without redundancy..and to try to make it smoother.. I wanted to make the parts fall and bounce at the end but just didn't have enough time for that..sorry..

Yeah!! So glad you liked them!! Need to hear from OB for changes to hers! I greatly modified hers due to lack of time..but now..I can manage all those details!! LOL


For those that already have your SBM blinkies done and would like me to tackle the "personal" blinkies for you..throw those in here now..don't have to wait til next week..It's very impressive what you all have come up with already!! Wow..Lots of scene changes.. I do realize this is alot of thinking and planning out for you all..so I think mixing the SBM blinkie and personal blinkies over the two weeks will be fine now that we have established the HOW to's of it!!

THINGS I would like you to remember when designing your blinkies!

1) Type of font and size for readability in small environment..the final size of the blinkies will be 150x50 pixels..So a thin font would not make it readable in final product

2) Frame changes have not only an INTRO but an EXIT..so mention how you want it to EXIT too..I usually do a pop or fade out..can cut, splice..whatever you wish..I will work the effort..I like the learning and trying new things!!

3) Please do not use outside fonts if possible..I had to hunt for 3 new fonts to do one of the blinkies..just to be sure it came out as she had hoped..I like the new fonts I added..but if you can stick to SBM 40 fonts..and arial type fonts..OR tell me where to get the font of your choice (freebies only please..LOL) That would be MOST helpful!!

You can use whatever kits you wish for your personal blinkies! That is not a problem. If you wish..you can send me an email with link to your smt if you are worried about folks taking your work up and having copyright issues..I will not be using them for anything other than your blinkie workups.

SUSIE...twpclerk..has LINK to Carena's awesome tutorial provided in this challenge for INSTRUCTIONS as to how to upload your blinkies...So if you need help..look for her post..

Smile..if you need help knowing how to upload your template..

Go to FIle:Export template
Get on MAX online..find this thread..open a post
go down page and click on manage attachments
Browse to your Documents: ScrapbookMax: templates and look for your blinkie work up.. and click upload...wait till it uploads and shows you a blue line with name of your smt.

Then type a few lines in your post and hit submit..That will give me your template with all the layers I need to work up your blinkie!!

ah..yes!! Dillie!! we both happy now!! LOL

Ok..OB ..got the revision done!! Not sure I got the "fold" right?? but tried..
and slowed the letters down in you name..put in the Max imum..which I really like that feature you have there!! and left the end as is..too hard to space all those letters out and get it to bounce..Trying to keep all these blinkies under 200 or less frames each..As is it's at 150 frames..

I created an action about 6 months ago I made for blinkies that has a paper tear in it and I can use whatever pattern in it..I'd love to try it out on one of your blinkies ..I've never used it on anyone's blinkie yet and would love to see how you like it..peals a piece of paper back to show under side...

Smile, I have to have the smt format to do the blinkies..So to bring down the size of your template..simply take out the drop shadow to see if that helps..

If I use as is..I will have a very hard time with moving objects in your scenes ..I could try..but looks yuky..taking out the white..but that's tons more work for me..take too long to make it..

Yeah..first time for novacaine for son and he didn't have an allergic reaction..whew..and he did very well!!

Now..jotted down an outline for a simple template for you to just add how you want your name to read in a simple SBM blinkie version...but will have to wait to get the blinkie done and uploaded until after SHOPPING trip!!

So for you that would love to have a SPECIAL blinkie but are still lost with how to do the format for it..You will only need to fill in the one blank space and submit that for me to make it for you!! ANd then once you get the hang of how it's works..you can do more versions of your own!! Just please..try to keep it simple...LOL..You all are really putting lots into your blinkies..

OK..for those that want a SBM blinkie and are clueless as to how to make one..do this simple fill in ONE blank space..for YOUR name..The template is all mapped out and the demo of what it looks like with MY name is right here in blinkie form..The template doesn't have MY NAME..so YOU put a wordart or something like it in there to say who you are..And if you wish to make MORE changes to it..do it!!

So start small and work your way up to a blinkie that suits you!

OK..KimmyAnn..I gave the online image a try..of the precious little one..we can go in swap the better picture if necessary! Had trouble with the feet..It's not like the closed flower that helps HIDE the writing..so I tried a different approach..Each footstep reveals part of the digital lettering underneath..and tried to do a glow edge..but only worked on a darker background..not the white..HUM..Was a real head scratcher.. I have a solid foot step that would work for the writing part..if you want me to change it..

Becky....After making your template...Go to File, then click Export...This will export your file to your scrapbookmax>template folder. Becky!! You can find your blinkie several ways...One..RIGHT clik on the image here and SAVE or go to photobucket.com...(www)...login: autisticwonder password: fisher22 and find your blinkie..click on it to get scroll down menu..then right click on IMAGE link and select copy..

Then go to SBM..Forums...look up at top bar and click on user CP
Go down to EDIT signature
Go to right side and PASTE your link at the bottom area of the window
Hit Save at bottom of screen
Go to Edit Signature again
Now look to TOP of right side and you should see your blinkie image...

but..if this fails..go to a great tutorial from Carena that does a better job of explaining it!! Thanks to Susie for putting it in this thread!
