this weeks challenge should having you having lots of fun with the cropping tool in Max!

Up Close & Personal

we all have photographs where it is a lovely photograph in its own right but we would love to also use only part of it, maybe a close up of a face, flower, gift etc ...well here's your chance to use both :D

i have attached an example of a page with a close up crop ;)

you will be using the CROP feature in Max! for this challenge, for those who do not yet know how to use the crop tool there are instructions at the bottom of this page

RULES

1) using just ONE photograph and a cropped section of the SAME photograph scrap a page

2) your page may have any theme you like and you may use any kits or embellishments, papers etc you like but please remember to credit

3) all pages to be uploaded to the gallery and the link or image posted to this thread

4) All pages to be uploaded by Sunday 1st March


How to use crop in Max!

1) open the photograph you wish to use

2) go to EFFECTS in the top menu bar

3) go to CROP in the drop down menu

4) using the white squares on the guide mark out the area you wish to show

5) click ok ...and you are done :D

I absolutely love cropping. It so helps get rid of all the unwanted parts of a photo. And just finding Melanies kit at the DSO color challenge, this was just a perfect challenge and a perfect kit.

Great challenge idea. As soon as I get over being in the freezing cold on top of a mountain and then in a car for 7 hours on the way home listening to Harry Potter all seven hours (not that I don't adore Harry, but 7 hours is enough to make me use my own wand and break the tv), I will be joining this challenge!

Great challenge Fiona! And great layouts so far everyone and it is only Tuesday!

Here is mine. I used this picture a long time ago. It is Kari (My G Niece) when she was little with my hubby's snake. She was fascinated by it. Hubby doesn't have the snake anymore. It was in a park nature center last we knew.


The items were in the kit I gave for doing last weeks challenge. I altered the colors a little for the layout.

Everybody has done wonderful pages...Loved this challenge Fiona..here is mine...
This photo was taken last week after our snow storm..I let the dog out the following morning and saw all these icicles on my tree and bushes...it actually looked like a frozen waterfall...It was just beautiful...:D

Thanks Fiona for the frames and for putting them into a zip file. With all the crazy computer problems and people losing so much, I've made it a practice to save all the zips files for my backup. Also don't use my hard drive for the files anymore since I always scrap with the drag and drop method and keep my files under folders named to the nice sweet person that shared them with me.
This was also a great challenge as I'm always cropping since so often I want a square photo.
