oh, that is really frustrating. That happened to me about 4 months ago. I had most of it backed but there was some things I was working on I hadn't yet backed up... I know the feeling.. Good luck.. and hope to see you around more.

What are (were) the symptoms? To have 2 hard drives fail at the same time is unusual, unless you had a massive surge in your home's electrical system (mains), a motherboard failure or a computer power supply failure.

If it's motherboard or computer power supply, your data may be retrievable... well, it would be to some extent retrievable in any case, but here in the States, data recovery services are very pricey.

BTW, a few years ago, I had a computer "failure" on my current unit that turned out to be a loose connection between the computer power supply and the motherboard. The connector on one of the 2 bundles between the power supply and the board had come loose.

Whow Angel............that sounds like alot of work...especially for someone like you who is so darn creative ......there is no way that we can do without you........I wish I could help but I am lucky just to turn this thing on and off and find what I am looking for. I don't even know what an external drive is and I don't want to know.......you can't teach an old dog new tricks ....I am proof of that ...........I can suggest that you have yourself a nice glass of wine and beat up your husband.....that works for me.......

Ah, kid, so sorry to hear this. I pickecd up a trojan horse last week, and I'm still trying to get rid of it. I did send you a link to a really funny vide just now... After you crashed your puter, so it was not me, ok? :p

Please, every one, make sure you scan anything you get from me. I don't think you will get the virus, but you can never be too careful.

Fiona!!!!!!! I feeeelll sooo bad for you. But I am glad that you didn't lose too much and that you are getting things back up and running. It is always devastating when the computer crashes. I know I should back up more often but it's so time consuming that I too procrastinate on getting it done. I need to get more diligent about it. Thinking of you and hoping everything goes well.
