I jus returned from my aunt's funeral. She was my second mom you could say. When I came to the states, she took me in until my parents came over. She was one of the three women in my life (my mother, my grandmother and her) that will always be special beyond words to me. She sucummbed to Parkinson and Alzimer over 12 years ago. She finally died last week.

So when I got home a little while ago, I wanted to rest my eyes and aching heart a bit, and came here to see what you folks were up to. The first thing I saw was a request to accept someone as my friend. As I added her to my list, I saw that there were 26 names already there. And it felt soooooooo good.

So thank you for being here. Thank you for being my friends. Thank you for caring... and being you. I'm grateful. I'm honered. I'm profoundly touched. To the newbies, a great warm welcome. To all of you, a joyful awwwwwwww....... when I see your gorgeous work that you so lovingly share every day with the rest of us. To Max for making it possible.

Nothing else to say.... Just a heart felt appreciation and gratitude.

Thank you so much!

:)

Oh my dear friend. How truly awful to have her suffering with Alzheimers for so long! My Dad died with Alzeimers and it's a very different kind of hurt you feel when they try so hard to remember us. I'm so very sorry for your loss. And here we talked over the weekend and you didn't say a word. Thanks for all your help when you had so much else in your life going on.

Sorry for your loss. It's so hard to lose someone and especially someone so close that has suffered for so long. Know that with alzeimers, it seems the loss goes on for years even though the body is still there.

Thank you all! I so much appreciate your warmth and kindness. You are all dealing with something in your own lives, so it means all the more for you to take the time to share your kind words with me.

We had a lovely family reunion. It was so good to be with them. And now with you. I wish you all sunshine and joy!

Eye.... I wish I could tell you this. I really love ya too, but I don't want you to go off the deep end again, so I'll just keep it quiet. Besides, Crops threaten to beat me up if I gave in.

Melanie... It was great talking to you, took my mind off myself. I looked at the lessons and can't wait to get started! Thank you for sharing!

Love ya all!

So sad, but you have wonderful memories Granny. I live and work with people with alzeimers and dementia and it can be sad but it can also be wonderful. The memories you have must be amazing. It is such a cruel illness. My uncle is also suffering and thinks my aunt, his wife is his sister and his wife ran away. Such a strain for everyone but you love them so much. Take care Granny, you are a special lady :)
