View Full Version : Weekly CHallenge 43 ~ Diamonds r a gals best friend
10-13-2008, 09:29 AM
here we go again...another weekly challenge :D
this weeks challenge is based on diamond shaped frames ..... i thought it would be nice to see what layouts you can make with frames that are not the standard square, landscape or portrait shapes
attached is a mini kit with several clusters of diamond shaped frames, plus in the mini kit is a square photo shape and a diamond photo shape cutter
1) All pages MUST have at least one of the Diamond Frames in it
2) Pages are to be 8x8 in size
3) You may use any theme to fit your photos
4) All pages to be in by sunday 19th October 2008
happy scrapping :D

Excellent layouts girls.Ijust seen this thread.I love them all and how do you make 8x8.I have only done one size but print 8x8.:)
10-14-2008, 08:54 PM
I actually made two pages...I made the second one first but realized it didn't tell much of a story, so I made the first one. I mainly used the "Chiffon Rose" kit. No...we're not lushes, but April started chemo today and won't be able to drink for a while so we had a few (okay, 9 martinis for the table!) and I only drank 1/2 of mine since I really don't drink!

These are outstanding ladies! One more for me.
10-14-2008, 10:39 PM
Stunning pages everybody!
For some reason I couldn't dl Fiona's freebies, probably its just my computer. Will try again later.

Wintertime in Tennessee, shot taken in the Cherokee National Forest after a mild snow:
And summertime in Tennesse, also taken in the Cherokee National Forest during a hike last summer.
I used "Making Memories" from Fiona's SBM store. I think it's cool how you can two such completely different looks from the same kit.
This was fun.
I had these photos from one of our trips to the USA...
We were driving by a Garden Centre & just happened to notice that they had this WONDERFUL display for Halloween.
I'd NEVER seen anything like it...!!!
Everything I've used were FREEBIES from our very own Fiona
HEY... before you ask... NOOOOOOOOO that isn't me at the bottom of the page LOL LOL LOL

Fantasic Pages everyone
another weekly challenge has ended, for all those who submitted a page check your PM boxes to get the link to download a set of 4 vintage style lace envelopes that i've put together for you from a new kit i have coming to store soon called Graceful, 2 are frames and 2 journal embellishments
A new weekly challenge starts tomorrow
10-19-2008, 09:04 PM
I am still new at this and think I am uploading the weekly challenge for October.
I used the diamond picture cutter, however, I had to be careful which pictures I selected because it would "cut" the picture in areas that were not useable?
Also, when fitting the picture to the diamond frames, I had to stretch them to fit, giving them an elongated look.
Am I doing something wrong?
I really love the diamond frames! Thank you!
10-19-2008, 09:12 PM
great page pixygirl
when using weird shaped frames i tend to place my frame then use a blank photo shape before i cut it, stretch the blank into position, custom shape then double click and replace with the photo you wish to use, this way you get to choose the area of the photo you want to use -for the diamond it's best to import a square photo shape first
