There's MORE! Everyone gets the freebie, and a lucky, random participant will also receive an official Scrapbook MAX! mousepad. WOO-HOO!
Details about this month's freebie and challenge are below!

Hey Kids...
I've been really busy, but managed to squeeze in a challenge at Karen's request... I thought it might be something different than flower, ribbons and bows... (I can hear Deanne cursing my name now and Fiona thinks I'm a meanie... LOL)
I will check in when I can , but I 'm getting ready to get on a plane in about 6 hours and I'll be out of town for a week
Enjoy the challenge and have some fun with it!

I guess I'll go first. This was pretty fun. I let my son tell me what kind of "shop stuff" needed to go on the shelves. My husband now wants me to print this out to hang in his workshop, =)

Everything is from Steve's mini-kit except the bobber, it was from NanaC and I made my own word art using the chipboard piece from Steve's kit.

Hi Peggy!
If a freebie kit ends in .smb or .smt, it can be automatically imported into Scrapbook MAX! just by choosing "open" when downloading. However, this particular freebie is offered as a .zip file. You will need to download the file and choose save (e.g., save to a folder designated for your scrapbooking freebies), then extract the included files as you would from any .zip file.
After that, you can "drag and drop" the individual elements into your pages. Just open up Scrapbook MAX!, and open up the folder where your freebie images are - then "drag and drop" them onto your page!
For a visual demonstration, please see our video called Adding And Embellishment - it covers the dragging and dropping technique:
http://www.scrapbookmax.com/tutorial-videos.php
Hope that helps - let us know if you have any questions!
Karin :)

I am married to an avid fisherman so sometimes I need to try to look at the good in having your husband gone all weekend, and I know in the future he will bring the boys along too, which will be a great break for me to have a weekend to myself! Don't get me wrong I adore my boys!:p

Here is my try at the Groove Challenge for Sept.
My sister and her family took a trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota a couple of years ago. They had their pictures taken in costume. These are two of the pictures. On the left is my nephew Troy and on the right is my niece Caris and her daughter Kari. They sure look like they belong in that era!
I don't know if anyone is familiar with the show Deadwood, (a little too much bad language for my taste) but these pictures were taken in Deadwood and we are distantly related to the real Al Swearengen of the Gem Theatre on the show.
He was my 3rd cousin 3 times removed. His real name was Ellis A. Swearengen if anyone is interested. On the show I think they have him as English or Scottish, but he was actually of Dutch descent. (One of the more infamous relatives) LOL.

Here is my attempt at the challenge. Since I don't have any boys I used my great nephew's photo. Isn't he sweet? He does want to be "Just like daddy"!
I used most of Steve's mini kit but also included some of my own things.
Thanks for making me think of something other than girly girl things Steve! :)

Ladies (and any gents)
I just got a few minutes to poke my head in and check the layouts for the September challenge
I am impressed! I didn't really expect this many responses so quickly and all done without a bow, ribbon or flower in the bunch...
Everyone has really stretched themselves, so don't let me stop you now... you're on a roll! Keep up the great work!

This is my first time trying to upload... so we will see what happens.
I have a few questions - I am new to Scrapbook Max.
When trying to place the picture frame around my pictures, I tried to resize it, but it would only resize by getting smaller. For instance, it was the correct width, but I wanted to make the height smaller - is there a way to enlarge or decrease the size of a frame without making the whole frame increase or decrease in size.
Also, I tried to import the picture into the frame - is that possible? I had to lay the frame on top of the picture.
I filled in the blank part of the picture with one of the other downloads for the Challenge.
This is my daughter & husband about 10 years ago as they were working on a Mustang. She loved working with her Dad.
How can I tell the size of the upload before I upload it? I saved it as a picture then uploaded it because I wasn't sure where to find it on my computer.
Is there a feature on Scrapbook Max to import embellishments, etc. into the program?
Thank you for any help you can give me!!!

Great first layout, Pixy! You will find answers to your questions in the SBM forum. Just go to the top of the forum and you'll see the search function. Type in a keyword (ex "frames") and you will get all the posts related to frames. If you don't find an answer feel free to post one in the related forums...someone is sure to answer....and have fun!!!!

I am new to the board and just purchased Scrapbook Max. This challenge fell right in line with the first page I was doing and so I decided to jump right in!
I can not locate the staples and nail embellishments used in some of the examples, where can I find those?
Thanks for your help!
