Hello all,

I need to request prayers for my father-in-law. He had a heart attack earlier this week and a test today showed some pretty severe blockage of the veins and arteries around his heart. He goes into surgery in the morning for bypass surgery. He's 78 years old, but in really good health (other than the heart thing), so the surgeon is optimistic. He just got done baling hay right before he went into the hospital, so he's an active person.

The Man Upstairs knows how this is supposed to end, though, so prayers headed up to Him can only help us all.

Many thanks,

omajo

Quick update -

My FIL had a triple heart bypass surgery yesterday morning. The doctor came out and said that although his heart was weak from lack of blood flow, there was no damage to the heart muscle itself, so he should be fine there. After surgery, his color was good and he wasn't very swollen, just looked like himself laying in the rcliner during the football game, asleep. :o)

My husband went to see him this morning. He was awake, alert, and gving the nurses a hard time, so he's doing pretty well. Some pain, but that's to be expected. The report this morning was that if he continues to improve like this, he'll be moved from ICU to a regular room sometime this evening or tomrrow morning. Woohoo!

Thank you so much for your prayers!

My father-in-law was released from the hospital and came home today. He's doing very well, and it's apparent that the painkillers did their job well after surgery. He commented today how his surgery didn't even hurt. Um,.... He has no memory of the pain, which is a good thing.

Thanks again to everyone for your thoughts and prayers! :D
