Gosh, it just seems that I have been so needy!
I do need your prayers to continue...... I was informed that my brother is going through major surgery tomorrow afternoon. He has not been responding to treatment and has been in the hospital now about 6 weeks. He did get to come home for 4 days about 3 weeks ago, only to have to go back when he got the blood clots. The surgery plan is to go and clean out the pancreas. Apparently he has about 15 cysts in the pancreas and he has a team of about 5 or 6 doctors. I understand he will be in instinsive care for about a week. They will insert additional tubes also, one will be a feeding tube into his stomach, as they want him off the TPM.
My mom fell apart, when I told her that they need to do surgery tomorrow. I'm really concerned about my Mom. She is so scared! She's so afraid that my brother wont make it through this illness.

Well, my brother came through surgery! Surgery was pretty intense! The doctors said this was the worst case they had personally delt with. He has lost a large amount of the pancrease due to the infection. He had a G-Tube also inserted into this stomach. He will be on tube feedings for a long time. The doctor said he will recover but things would change. Will probably have to take enzymes before meals, for the rest of his life. He will have dietary changes. He is still in recovery right now, but will be going to the ICU shortly. We expect him to remain in ICU for about 5-7 days.
My mom didn't handle the need for surgery, at all! We've kept her medicated to relax. She still cried all day and was in constant prayer (loudly). She is resting right now, peacefully. I brought both my parents over to my house tonight, so I can keep an eye on mom.
Just wanted to thank everyone for their continued prayers! Our family sure can use all the prayers. We still have a long ways to go with my brother and mom, not to mention a few other things that we're dealing with.
I love you all!

Dear Onie I have been and will continue praying for you and your family; especially your brother. I hope that you can keep your mom calm and give her hope. So much for you to have to deal with--but please know that we are here for you and I for one have a good shoulder if you need to talk. Please do take care of yourself through all of this as well.

Hi all,
We got word tonight that they let my brother wake up! He's in a lot of pain but his first request was to eat! Poor guy, his food is only available by tube feeding, for a long time!
We will be heading back over to California on Wednesday! Will be taking my folks to see Frank (brother). Mom is doing better, now that she knows he's awake.
Spend the entire day, getting my parents moved into the mobile home. I will be meeting with the contractors tomorrow, to arrange getting the new awnings put on.
My brother Mike has been real busy working on the inside of the mobile. Mike has moved into the mobile with my parents, which is a good thing! Everyone really needs each other, as all of them have health issues.
My mom will be getting the neurological tests done in 2 weeks. I'm so sure that she has something neurological going on...... she is constantly losing her balance and falling. I've been so concerned about this for about 6 or 7 months. I have had numerous conversations with my dad, telling him my concerns. Being a nurse can be so hard, because you stay tuned into things that most people would overlook. I honestly think that my Mom may have Parkins or some other type of neurological disorder. She has gotten so much worse over the past few months, especially with all the stress she's been under.
I want to thank everyone for their prayers, and request that you continue those prayers for our family.

Just checking in to see how your brother did with his surgery. So glad to hear he's awake. I'll be praying for him and for your entire family. So much stress for you these past couple months. Keep you chin up and lean on us when you need a shoulder. Wish there were more I could do. Hugs!

sounds like bro is doing pretty well after the surgery, as least as well as expected at this time. Hope your Mom does not let the stress get to her too much and she takes care of herself too. Prayers are still coming.
[QUOTE=OnieRN;117195]Hi all,

Yes Onie even though I am retired I still look at people and see things that they do not.My niece is really sick and I think they may have given her false hope.I myself do not think she will make it.Sometimes nursing sucks eh when yah know too much:(.
I do hope your mum gets well and that nothing serious is going on.Poor Frank this will be a long haul for him.I wish a speedy recovery. Also you stop and take a breath.I worry about you.You need a get away. You need a moment of peace.xo

Onie, you are always in our thoughts and prayers. Stay strong, life will get better. I am glad your brother is on his way to recovery, slow as it may be. I will pray your mom's tests come out clean. Best of luck to you and to yours!

Onie I think about you every day and hope that things will improve for everyone concerned. I am praying that your mom's problems will be easily treated and she will be fine. I am so happy to hear that your brother moved in with them-that in itself will be a big help. I am also very happy to hear that your other brother has awaken and that he will now be able to start the healing process, as slow as it will be, he will at least know that he is going to get better. Please do take care of yourself as well. Have a safe trip and hope to talk to you soon.
