I was wondering ... when I download a template and it has some cool embellishments on it, where do the embellishments go?

I know when I create embellishemnts and make an smb file I can choose where they go, but where do the embellishments that are included in an smt template file go?

For example, I created a template that was called Who's Your Doggy. Included with the template was a dog bone frame and several dog biscuits. Where did SBM put those files? Are they only availabe if I select that particular page as a layout, or can I navigate to one of the SBM folders and find them and add them to any page.

I know I created them and have the orignals, but I just want to know so I know whether or not to upload a separate file that includes all the individual embellishments so they will be available without adding another page, deleting off everything other than the element you want to use.

I am not sure, but I think they stay with the template. But I have found out that if you do something with that template and rename it, then it goes into the documents folder under Scrapbook Max/Projects. With the name of that project. That folder has everything that was used in the project. So technically you could copy those items from there and put them back into your embellishment folder for future use. That is what I do anyway.
Check it out and let me know if that works for you.

That will work. I just thought there was a hidden place for template embellishments. Thanks Marion.

There is.... Go out the door, turn right, walk 100 paces, duck under the fence and cross the street. Go down about 1 mile, bear left, go into the shop and come out the back, walk to the store in the corner. Go in the store, go to a fitting room, draw the curtain, pull on the hook where the hangers go, walk through the opening behind the mirror, down the stairs, turn the lights on, walk up the other stairs, open that door, go in the room. You'll find them there sitting on your couch drinking your beer.

Make sure you're have not been followed, and don't change any steps, it won't work.

Be nice to the little critters, they are very sensitive and will hide again if you insult them.

Too funny Granny!
I would have believed you to Granny, if I hadn't found the little critters hiding place within my own computer!
You missed your calling, should've been a writer.

When you create a template all of the embellishments, backgrounds, etc. that were in the project get included in the template. They are only accessible from a project created with the template on another user's system that has downloaded your template.

I know I created them and have the orignals, but I just want to know so I know whether or not to upload a separate file that includes all the individual embellishments so they will be available without adding another page, deleting off everything other than the element you want to use.

If you want to distribute embellishments, create .smb files. See this post for details about how to do that:

http://www.scrapbookmax.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13

Hint: You can also put template files within .smb files. That way it is a one-file download for the template and all of the files that were used to make the template.

Hope that answers your question.

I never thought of putting both the embellishments and the template together... when I do that should I post under Templates or embellishments... hmmmmm
