this weeks challenge is a continuing theme of music....you can thank Ameliasmuma & Wickel for this one as this is a combination of their suggestions ;)

Lets get Lyrical

last week you all sat there racking your brains for your top 10 favourite tunes, this week you need to narrow it down to one :eek:

Rules

1) using 2 to 3 lines of lyrics from a favourite song (or the whole thing if you want) scrap a page (or several)

2) you must add the band/singers name and the title of the song somewhere in the page

3) you must also include either a photo of the band/singer or the cd/record cover or a photo of yourself singing or dancing (there's that wicked streak of mine showing again lol)

4) all pages to be uploaded to Gallery and then into this thread

5) all pages to be entered by Sunday 25th

Cool another challenge and a another great one to get the brain working. I did this one based on a song that has us all here singing - we love this song a lot and it reminds me of one of my little girls because of her being Autistic she at times is very much like the devil in disguise ((in the nicest way possible)) well here is my submission no doubt I'll do another during the week hehehe thanks Fiona I'm loving these challenges they are awesome :)

i absolutely love this song (but it must be cyndi's version lol)
being a tad psychic i do aura readings and whilst like many psychic i can see the colours in the aura (the energy field surrounding the body) i have a unique way of showing those i am reading what i see...i do angels of the person (hence part of my screen name...i show people the angel within them)
too many people have so many negative doubts about themselves, if only you could all see the beauty that is within you which i can see and realise how very unique and beautiful you are you would all feel so much more postive
the images in this page are some of my angel drawings from readings i have given....these are the 'true colours' ...everyone is beautiful...like a rainbow - just as the song says :D

LOL okay here's my layout for this challenge. Everytime I look at this photo I think of this song. Used just a plain ole black-ground, shaped the photo and found the cd cover and pics of Kenny online.

I listen to contemporary Christian music - a lot. When Fiona issued the challenge this week, I immediatly thought of this song by Casting Crowns.

The song reminds me to listen to the positive and not the negative voices around me. My positive voices come from my faith and my family.

Ok, who's been handing out the espresso to everyone? How did you guys do this so fast? Fiona must have put this challenge up early because I couldn't believe all the SUPER pages I've seen already. WOWZA! ALL of these are superlative, phenomenal, FANTASTIC pages! And all of the songs have such great words.......uh....except this Crazy Frog one......"a ring ding ding"? LOL! That's the funniest frog I've ever seen. I've never seen him before.

This challenge should spur me on to do a page I've been thinking about for some time. Just couldn't get it quite right. Guess I'll have to try harder this week.

Here is my page for the challenge. I think my creative bug is gone but I tried to create the steps to heaven using a stone wall from the freebies here on SBM (Smile is that your wall? sorry can't remember). I made the clouds myself and used an image brush from busharts.com for the sun. The photo is one that I have here at home. This song was sung at my father's funeral by my wonderful brother in law. I love this song. And I can only imagine!

I have at last gotten round to doing one of my own. I love listening to José Carreras sing. He has the voice of an angel and make me cry every time. Many years ago I saw a stage production of the Phantom of the Opera, and about 10 years ago I was given the tape of José singing from the Lloyd Webber musicals with Stephanie Lawrence. This song, is one of my all time favourites. The background pictures and the lyrics are from the web.

Wow, everyone's layouts are all so neat. And I'm not organized enough to go through and list them all by name, but I've loved each one.

Another entry from me, then I'll quit for the week. The song is "You're My Best Friend" by Queen. One of the band members wrote it about his wife, released in 1975 on the "Night at the Opera" album. I couldn't figure out a graceful way to incorporate a picture of the band in the layout, but i did include the album information as a proxy.

The song describes my marriage perfectly - I am wonderfully blessed to be married to my best friend. He is my friend, my partner in life, my inspiration, my reason to be the best that I can, and he tries to keep me out of trouble (which can be a full time job on occasion). He accepts my weaknesses and builds on my strengths. I can only hope that I do the same for him.

I used the Vintage Trappings materials that came with ScrapbookMAX! Wedding Edition for all pieces - background, mats, embellishements.

Here's mine. I am taking a little license here since I couldn't think of just one song for my favorite. My husband's grandmother and I were very close and I have been missing her a lot lately, so I am honoring her with a page about her favorite song. In the middle photo, the blonde is my husband and the redhead is his brother. She was a concert pianist, a missionary, an immigrant, and a teacher. I am sure she played this song many times. Gram's favorite hymn was "His Eye is on the Sparrow". The red background paper is from Donna Thomas' Old Time Colors. The sheet music is not the same song but a page from a book of arrangements she wrote for the piano and I scanned it in because I wanted to preserve that part of her legacy as well. She was always using the gift of music God gave her to bless others. I miss her terribly.

More great works of art, I have left comments on the gallery for your beautiful pages they are all so gorgeous :) I just couldn't help myself and did one more. This is from the Disney movie Enchanted and Amy Adams sings a few of the songs in this movie and one in particular that my girls loved was How does she know it's a very catchy song I must say I even find myself attempting to sing this but who could compare to the sweet voice of Amy she has that amazing voice. The movie is fantastic too if your into that romantic Disney style of fun. Which I am as I loved that movie ha ha ha ha

I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to find the time to do this week's challenge. The family reunion is this weekend and I have to take 5 grandchildren (ages 1,2,3,6, & 8) all by my lonesome. I have to get the 75 notecards printed out (why didn't I print them when I finished them?) the 5 layout pages of family stories to add to the scrapbook we keep at the family farm (why did I volunteer for that one. They have to be done at 8 x 8 so I can print them then added to a 12 x 12 paper and some "real" embies added), print out the memorial pages I did of my Dad to take to Mom (hmmmm...thinking on this one. She's gonna cry.) I DID get the 3 boxes done to store the notecards in (they look great! I'm so pleased with how I did them) do laundry for 5 kids so I have their best clothes cleaned (so I can show off my grandbabies.) And then travel 4 hours to stay with my Mom Sat night for the reunion on Sun. I'm just running out of time. Sorry. Great pages though everyone. I've been reading them at work but I can't work on my own pages from here. Darn.

She is soooo in love with George Strait..
She listens to his music everynight when she goes to bed..
We always tease her that he is young enough to be her son. (He is a yr. older than me!! )

When I saw this lyrical challenge, I had to do this for my Mom.. It will fit in her scrapbook....



lol someone figured out one of the reasons for setting this challenge ;)

when scrapping an album for other people i often place song lyric pages into the album, music stirs so many strong memories so adding a few lyrical pages helps transport peoples memories back to the era when photographs were taken, i also add a cd with the albums i give with any songs i've used in the album so people can listen whilst looking ;)
