there have been lots of questions about how to get buddies so i thought i'd start a post where anyone who needs a buddy can put there names here.

the buddy system is such a great thing on this site...if someone goes quiet or missing someone on site will have contact details for that person and can find out why that person has disappeared :eek:

so if you are looking for a buddy to swap details with post your name in this thread and you can pm each other to buddy up :D

It really helps if we know WHERE your at! It's easier for people to stay in contact if their buddy is in the same country. Some of us do call one another and that is a special bonus!

I can always add more too! Please remember that when your sending PM to request your buddies, Please give them phone numbers and addresses too! We want as much info as we can get on each of you! By putting your buddies name in your Signature Block on here....... Your letting the rest of us know that you have exchanged info with that person. If we miss someone, we will look for their name on buddy list then we will know who to ask to get into contact with them. ALSO, it's okay to have multiple people that have your info! It actually helps too!

Onie-how did the paper signing go on your new house?? Are you getting excited now?? You are so lucky to get to move and stay some place warm!! Of course Texas was very warm too-but it is still exciting to get to move. I wish I could go south-I am sooooo tired of the winters. My DH has arthritis setting in his joints, and Arizona would be so good for him. Hmmmm! Sure sounds ever more tempting!!:D

Hi PK, All the papers are signed (for now). We close on the house by June 1. The house here still hasn't sold but the house is still be shown. Another showing tomorrow! We will be moving on over to Arizona after June 9th. We were told last night that our son Josh will leave for his Air Force training, later in the summer, so he will go with us, until he leaves.

We are getting excited but we have SO SO much to do!.

Keep one thought in mind, however. The oldies in the forum started the buddy system after being around for a while and kind of getting to know each other. Now we have so many newbies joining every day, it's hard to keep track of each other and get to know you before choosing who we want for buddies.

Please, please, please.... Be very careful what kind of personal information you give out, and be sure to pm the person. Don't post the info here in the forum. This is a public place and all kinds of nuts can come in and get that info, and even pretend to be a nice person. I don't want to be a party pooper, but I want even less to have any of you get hurt. So use common sense and caution. By all means, choose a buddy, but do so wisely.

Have fun, be safe, and if you're a perp... Don't mess with our friends. We will get you and it will be a slow, painful death...

For all of you that have buddied up and are worried about the cost of international telephone calls there is a very very cheap solution

Donna (autisticwonder) and i use skype - it is a free telephone service that you connect through your pc, the software is completely free, the calls are completely free, the only thing you have to pay for is either a headset & microphone kit or like we have a skype compatable phone (very cheap on ebay :D)

we now enjoy 2 to 3 hour phone calls several nights a week between uk and usa (yes i said 2 to 3 hours long lol) and never pay a penny :D

Skype phones are attached via a usb port on your pc (headphones via the mic & earphone ports but there is a lag when using headsets) which means you can chat & use your pc at the same time

once you have skype up and running you can talk to anyone who also has skype any where in the world by swapping skype id's - you can even conference call with serveral people at once (if ya that crazy lol) and it is all completely FREE (i love that word)

Hey, I even know where Ottumwa is! My church did some mission work on another church on Albia Rd. a few years ago. I have a t-shirt from there with the Ottumwa Bulldogs on it. :)

Along the left side of the profile page is a link to the buddy list. If you want to have the buddy list show up on your messages, you need to add it to the signature page also.

REALLY????? :confused: I never could figure out what that tab was good for! I've manually added my buddies to my signature block.

Ya I been using Skype now for almost a year chatting with my buddy oversea too. Is getting so much better now (compare with the begining ) . Very 'grateful' for this wonderful system cos it saved me a bunch. :P
