Hi Everyone...yup it's that time again....weekly challenge :D

this week I thought i'd give you the chance to scraplift from your favourite pages...but with a slight difference of course lol

for those who have not scraplifted before here's what you do:
find a layout that someone else has done that you would love to do and make your version of their page, try and keep the layout the same but use your own colour scheme etc ...there is an example attached of a page i scraplifted and the original

the twist this week is .........your scraplifted page is going to have a theme ....and the theme is ........Humour (or Homor if you want the USA spelling lol) as it is national homor month for the whole of April

Rules:

1) Scraplift a page from someone who's work you admire at Max
2) using the theme of HUMOUR make your scraplifted version of the page
3) Post your scraplifted version of the page in the gallery and then in this thread
4) Post the Max Gallery link to the page that you have scraplifted
5) All pages to be in by Sunday 13th April

there will be a lovely gift kit for everyone who enters this challenge so get posting :D

I know the topic is humor, but my family thought it was very funny to catch my almost 15 year old son sleeping with a doll. We had gotten up at 2am to catch a flight and traveled all day from south Florida to Idaho and Josh just collapsed as soon as we got there. The doll was on the couch and he never finished moving it out of his way. I got the whole page done before I realized this was Strawberry Shortcake instead of Raggedy Ann but he said he liked it anyway so I didn't change it. I scraplifted my layout idea from lemonade8590 and will link to her photo for you. MH51 gave me the Raggedy Ann doll and paper. I got the word art from Bethany Harty and the frame from someone named SDD here in the forums. The journal paper came from LorieM's Thankful Life kit.

It said to pick someone who's work I admire. I picked Carena from a long list of people I admire. Here's the link to Her layout:

and here's my humorous version:

Love looking at all these scraplifts. However, angelwithin, yours and texasteacher's are actually from a mask that autisticwonder created from a layout of someone else that I had liked. Autisticwonder so graciously allowed me to use it for the June 2007 Mid-month challenge. texaseacher didn't give a credit to that fact, and I just thought it should be known! Autisticwonder is a wonderful designer and deserves the credit. Here is the link to that old challenge if anyone else would like the mask

This is my favorite "funny" photo. At five foot, I really am vertically challenged compared with the rest of my family. When my son moved out of the house, I had to buy a step ladder! Red and white are the school's colors.

My thanks to Autistic Wonder for the circle shape and the tutorial where I learned to make the textured BG. I also loved Carena's work and scraplifted one of her creations.

Love it Grannywin!!! How funny! Love everyone's so far.

I didn't remember that mid month challenge in June, but then I remembered that is when I went to the family re-union last year and to DC. So I missed out on that one.

I used on of crops layouts to scraplift for the weekly challenge. Thumbnail of hers is below. I used Kimb's "Denim Flair" kit to do the layout. I also used a lace shape from Donna Thomas (Autistic Wonder) Misc Shapes. I adjusted colors a bit.

This is another layout with my Niece Anne. She is my sister Carol's daughter and this picture was taken the morning of my niece Carol's (sister Linda's daughter) wedding. Everyone was rushing around trying to get ready. I was trying to get a picture of her and she stopped and posed with her hands in the air.

Jim and Xena. I used Carol's layout. The background and alpha is Kimb. Frame and flower I don't know. Quote is from a calendar.

It is fun to look at the lighter side of life once in awhile. Great layouts. Each one is bring a smile to my face.

What a beautiful tribute to Xena, Marion. It brought back memories of our granddog, a boxer, that also thought she was a lap dog.

Hey, Fiona! This was a difficult challenge. You made us work for this one, but it was worth it to have a good laugh at ourselves.

Oh Cra*. I worked and worked on this layout and now that I get back here to place it for all y'all to see I remember that the topic was supposed to be humor. Oh well, I'll post anyway. The page I scraplifted from(blue and green) is by a friend of mine who introduced me to digital scrap booking. I usded elements from Amy Teets' kit Sun Porch. My page shows some of my oldest daughter's senior pictures. I'll try harder to read and remember directions next time!

Wow - Firstly I have to say that I'm so honoured to find not one but 2 of my pages scraplifted. This was an amazing surprise to me. I'm very glad that my pages have helped inspire so many.

Wonderful challenge Fiona and you work so hard putting them all together. For everyone who has joined - the pages posted here are of an excellent standard and I congratulate you all. Awesome awesome.

I must admit that often I too am inspired my layouts I've seen around the galleries and it is an excellent way of learning and improving you layouts. It also gives you a real feel for what you like, the style, colours which attract you, type of kit used etc etc etc.

Challenge yourselfs my scraplifting pages you really like but at the same time - start off small with something easy and work up to the more challenging stuff.

WOW - still can't believe this - you guys are just toooo much. Hugs from Carena

My kids get so silly when it's time to get pictures taken, which makes it incredibly hard to get a good family photo...so, last time I told them we could do a "silly" photo after we got our "serious" family picture, so here's the silly family photo...

TWPclerk, that looks just like something my boys would do. Must be a guy thing! Very funny. I have another one. I stumbled onto these, didn't even know I had them. They were in an old, broken camera that we didn't use anymore and I popped in the memory card to see if there was anything on it. Moral - don't let the kids drop your digital camera. I scraplifted this from Candjdemi's Cookies for Santa layout. The word art is from Bethany Harty and everything else is from a kit called Express Yourself by Ronna Penner of Scrapadelic. The author of the quote is hard to read so I'll tell you who said it: the Cat in the Hat.

This is one of those humor pages where you laugh to keep from crying. He is a teen now with a girlfriend so now between the doll photo and this one I have some great blackmail material - hee hee hee. I scraplifted a layout called "Mama'a Little Helper" from Julie Clark. Couldn't match the cuteness of hers though. That baby is adorable. And clean. :) I got the word art from Bethany Harty and the brad and tag came from Fiona.

KPierce,
I lived in Missouri all of my life until 2003. We moved to Tulsa, OK for a couple of years and have been the last three years in Florida. I love the warm climate here but I'm still a Missouri gal at heart.

Well I didn't think I was going to be able to pull this off, for a few reasons. First I'd just like to say that I admire Everyone's work and it was extremely difficult in deciding on who's to take for a scraplift. I have chosen Moonbeam for this and I hope I did it ok? May not be terribly funny but I tried, still learning the ropes **Excuse the pun** lol I really love what I've seen so far and in time I guess I too will be able to pull off what fantastic work I've seen in here :)

Oceania,
Your layout is quite funny. You did a beautiful job! Pat yourself on the back. I know sometimes it can feel intimidating to look at the beautiful work others do, but none of the scrapbookmax folk would ever want to have that effect on anyone. Sharing our layouts is about inspiring and encouraging each other and learning new ways to use the program.

I scraplifted two pages from a template that marion shared with us in one of the past challenges (hope this is okay)? Anyway this is the start of the album I am putting together for my son (who is a goth) of my lovely grandson. I put the page's I have done and the original template pages that I lifted them from. OOps had to edit as I forgot to mention that the skull on the ribbon was from monti's gothic kit (montipixels playground), and the pic's of the toys I got from photobucket (thanks to a link from Wickel)
